Winter Plaids

Winter is where layers count the most. I love when the season gets chilly & I can put together outfits with many different elements.

This outfit is one of my favorites that I wore around the Christmas season:
Dress: H&M
Bralette: Aerie
Scarf: Craft Show Vendor
Socks: Target
Clutch: Bath & Body Works

A Day in DC

For being a mere 30 minutes away from Washington DC, I do not visit nearly enough. Last month, I made the trip with my sister who was visiting from California and my mom. We went to the Smithsonian first, which I never get tired of. Between the dinosaur exhibit and the marine life center, I could explore the museum all day!!
A beautiful chemical element called Bismuth was in the gems & crystals shop
and I couldn't help but admire it! I mean honestly...it's rainbow and geometric!!
The highlight of the trip was definitely finding a delicious Gelato & coffee shop. It was my first time at Pitango Gelato & I wanted to come back as soon as we left. I chose green tea and coconut gelato and they tasted great together. I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the coffee, it was one of the best cappuccinos I have had! The shop is small with a few seats looking out on the beautiful streets of DC. I would highly recommend checking this place out, it's peaceful & the treats are delicious.
We ended the day with a beautiful sunset at the Washington Monument & went to pick up my brother-in-law at the airport!

What is your favorite spot in DC?

A Kate Spade Office

I love puns. I love stationery. I love Kate Spade. So naturally, I love the two Kate Spade products I received for Christmas this year.

I am in the process of collecting bits & pieces for my new office that I will be moved into around May of this year (and I am so excited to design it!)

           Find them here: http://bit.ly/1Pxh4Ij , http://bit.ly/1NOFbNd

With copper and gold accents planned, the golden push pins in the shape of a delicate bow and the beautiful gold stapler with a clear coating are great additions to the collection.

Rose Gold Zoeva Makeup Brushes

Rose gold everything. I am admittedly alongside many when it comes to a true love for Rose gold. It is just as classy as gold, but with a bit more daintiness...what's not to love?

These makeup brushes are not only designed beautifully, but are crafted well!
The bristles are incredibly soft and don't seem to shed.

The collection is filled with eight brushes in total providing a brush option for every daily makeup need.

Just look at these beauties:

Jo Malone: Peony & Blush Suede

One of my favorite Christmas presents this year (though I loved them all & feel so grateful) was a JoMalone scent. It was definitely unexpected!

The packaging is clean, classic and beautiful. The scent inside is just as lovely. In the bottle, the scent smells of a heavy floral scent. Once on the skin it is a long-lasting, light floral scent where the peony stands out. It lasts all day with just a spritz on the neck and wrist. Not to mention I feel absolutely luxurious wearing it.

With a pretty price tag it is a bit of a splurge, but worth it. Get to a Jo Malone counter and find the scent you love!

Happy December

Happy December! Christmas is only a bit away and I am so ready. The lights, movies, music, food, drinks, scarves and outfits...oh man, I'm excited.

Here is a simple outfit idea I love. It combines casual, cozy & girly into one hunter-green focused look.

What is your favorite part of Christmas?

Marc Jacobs "Lolita" Palette

This is a classic eyeshadow palette that received a lot of hype a few months ago in the blogger community. While I have owned it for a while, I have recently started to use it as my go-to palette for a simple eye shadow look.

The packaging of this is amazing & screams elegance. The shadows also do not disappoint, with neutral shades in both shimmer and matte, this palette is great for a quick eye shadow look. While I do wish the shadows were a bit more pigmented, layered over a cream eyeshadow base like the Maybelline color tattoo, they work wonderfully.

Here are a few close ups of this beauty:

Copper-obsessed Bandwagon [Home Decor]

The first step is admittance. I undoubtedly have a copper, gold & white marble obsession. The good news is that I'm clearly not alone judging from the home decor section of many stores currently. I am eagerly awaiting a chance to peruse the Target home section, but over the past few months I have collected a few copper gems I look forward to decorating with in the near future.

Without further ado:

Decorative Jar: Target
Tealight Candle Holder: Gift
Tin Candle: Lou Lou

Last-minute Greek goddess Halloween costume

Quick, it's the day before Halloween and you don't have a costume...or do you?

If you have a long white or cream dress, gold jewelry, gold ribbon, gold & white eye shadow and sandals then you have a Greek goddess costume. Simple, adaptable & comfortable.

I had the most fun with my makeup: I did a bronze contour, white & gold smokey eye and added white & gold swirls on the left side of my face for a more whimsical look.

Here is the look I came up with using things around my house:
