Beauty: Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette

A faithful palette of mine has been the Urban Decay Naked Basics. It has six shadows, five of which are matte and one is shimmer. As the name implies they are are all warm, neutral colors. This palette is well loved and I use it every single day, whether it is for my eyebrows (for which I mix the colors "Naked 2" and "Faint"), an everyday eye look, or the perfect brow-bone highlight ("w.o.s") I adore this palette.

This having been said, you can probably imagine my excitement when I discovered there was a new Naked Basics 2 palette!! As soon as I got my hands on it, I realized we were meant for each other.

Too dramatic? Maybe. But for me, this palette is a new everyday staple & it couldn't have come at a better season.

I often switch between using warm and cool tones on my eyes, but this season I can confidently say I am loving this palette. The neutral, cool tones seem to compliment my skin tone and bring out the blue-green color of my eyes (something I LOVE in an eye shadow).

This palette, like the first, has six neutral shades, containing five matte colors and one shimmer. The colors are perfect for an everyday eye look, evening look or a brow bone highlight. The shadows are smooth, blend well and layer easily (as with most Urban Decays Naked Shadows). I find myself reaching for this to create an I-put-effort-into-my-makeup look out of only two shadows - a look that takes less than five minutes on those sleepy school mornings.

I have a favorite color within the palette that I will likely hit pan on well before the others. The color "cover" is darling. It is a light-medium brown shade that stands apart from the rest with a slight red undertone. I apply this color across the entirety of my lid (with no cream shadow as a base...this is revolutionary for me and speaks wonders to the shadow.) Instantly, I see a difference in my eye color as the undertone of red brings out the blue-green in my eyes, try it out for yourself and see if you notice the same thing. I usually blend a bit of "frisk" in my crease, add a liquid liner, highlight my brow bone and voila my eyes are done.

Here's the shadow combination below:

If you have the chance to experiment with this palette yourself, I would highly recommend it!

Beauty: Marc Jacobs "Lolita" Eye Shadow Palette

This palette is a bit of a luxury, with a pretty price tag, but it is truly a gem! It has caused quite the excitement within the beauty community for a while now & rightfully so!

The colors in the palette are all neutral and contain three matte colors (white, beige, and dark brown) and four shimmery colors ( ranging from coppery tones to bronze tones). The shadows are blend-able and build-able and all around gorgeous!

MakeUp: Drugstore "No MakeUp" Look

Happy April!!

Hopefully none of you have been tricked seeing as it is April Fools Day, but personally I love the first day of April because it truly feels like Spring & it is my birthday month! :)

For Spring, I love a simple and easy makeup look & most days, especially those early school mornings, I am going to opt for a "no makeup" makeup look that is quick and takes ten minutes or less!

Here's my go to look
Products I used:
1. Loreal Lash Out Butterfly Mascara "Black"
2. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder "01 Beige"
3. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer "20"
4. Maybelline Clear Mascara (as eye brow gel)
5. Nyc Brow/Eyeliner Pencil "Dark Brown"
6. Maybelline Intant Age Rewind Concealer

Also, a bonus is all of these products are from the drugstore meaning they are very affordable, who doesn't love a cute look that doesn't break the bank?!

Divergent Make Up Collection!!

It is no secret that I love make up & recently it is no secret that I LOVE the Divergent book series. I am currently finishing the third and final book, but I am in love with the overall themes and of course, the incredible relationship that exists between the two main characters, Beatrice "Tris" and Tobais "Four". Their love is the non-conditional type, that acts as though the other does not become an adage to their life or their self, but actually becomes one with them. Tris often points out moments when she realizes they are the same, it is lovely and beautiful.

Any who, the point of this post is to talk about the special edition make up kit from Sephora. I was skeptical at first that it was going to be gimmicky, however after reading reviews I decided to try it out for myself, bought it online (after having to wait a week for it to come back in stock) and two days later I had a lovely large package on my doorstep!!

The kit includes:

  • 3 Themed eye shadow palettes (Dauntless, Abnegation, and Erudite)
  • 1 face palette (2 blushes, 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter)
  • 4 Lip glosses
  • 1 Double sided make up brush (Blush/Powder brush & Blending brush)
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with this kit. The eye shadows are pigmented, versatile, blendable, and come in incredibly wearable shades. There are only 2-3 shades that I don't see my self using often or even on a day to day basis, they are a sparkly green, mossy green, and a scarlet blue color.

The other shadows range from stark white to a incredibly black color called "Dauntless Ink". I love all of the different names, however the eye shadow palettes themselves, though named after 3 of the factions are not designed specifically for those factions. For instance in the dauntless palette there is "Abnegation Stone". This is a minor detail, but I would have preferred each palette to be specifically for the faction it was named for.

"Erudite Eye Palette"
"Dauntless Eye Palette"
"Abnegation Eye Palette"

The lipglosses are a medium pigment, not completely sheer but not opaque either. They are smooth, non-sticky and leave a lovely sheen on your lips. I also enjoy all of the colors and will wear every single one of them. I think it was very smart of them to stick with neutral tones for the majority of this collection, especially since most of the factions would probably wear those type of colors anyway.

Left to Right: "Natural Virtue, Temptations Choice, Supreme Ritual, Fear Not"
The blushes are gorgeous as well, one is a deep coral and the other is my favorite, a dusty rose color. The highlighter is gorgeous and reminds me of the NYX one that I currently use, but the bronzer is the best part. It is a gorgeous warm toned color with a yellowish tint that gives it a natural sunny look when applied to the skin, I'm in love!

This is limited edition, so head over to Sephora and see if you can get your hands on it while they last or get your name on the email list so you can snatch it up right away if your interested.

P.S - I plan on having tutorials for the different factions coming up really soon, stay posted on this blog and my YouTube to see my first look inspired by the Dauntless faction! :)

Friday Finds: Loreal Lash Out Butterfly Mascara

Guess what day it is?!

Friday... a perfect day for Friday Finds!

I wanted to add another series onto my blog and came up with Friday Finds, in which I will share a product, activity or idea that I love! I am not necessarily going to hold one every Friday, simply because I don't know if I will have "found" new product I feel the need to feature, but I have a couple in mind already so I am really excited to get this started.

The first ever product I want to feature is one that I am absolutely in love with. After using Benefit's "They're Real" Mascara, I thought finding a mascara I valued just as much was an impossible task, but yet, here I am announcing to you my new favorite mascara.

It is the Loreal butterfly effect mascara in the non- waterproof formula. I have the shade "Blackest Black". There are so many good things to say about this product that I hardly know where to begin.

(Wider edge is on the right hand side in the pictures)
The best place to start is the unique and incredible brush. It is in the shape of a butterfly wing, increasing from a small tip to a more spread out triangular shape. At first it can seem a bit intimidating, but once I figured out the best way to apply it, I haven't been able to use anything else.

I simply make sure the fanned out, wider edge is on the outer corner of my lashes and then apply from the root wiggling up to the tips of the lashes as you typically would. I apply a couple of coats (though it doesn't need it) because I like the dramatic lash look. I haven't had a single problem with clumping and find that this brush design works wonders.

I have finally found my dream mascara that adds volume, lengthens and fans out the outer edge of the lashes all in one! *swoon*

Since the bottom of the brush is a normal, slightly rounded shape, it is perfect for the bottom lashes. I apply the left over mascara onto them seeing as I do not like my bottom lashes to have to much product and look "doll-eyed" on an every day basis.

It separates each lash and gives an incredible long, full look to the lashes as a whole.

The packaging is not the greatest thing in the world in my opinion, seeing as it is a bit bulky and quite flashy being fully silver, but the product inside is so amazing, that I do not mind it at all.

If you are looking for a new mascara to try, I highly recommend this one!

"Hailey Grace"

Ok, here it is, my super exciting news is...

I started my very own YouTube channel!!

It is something I have wanted to do since I fell in love with the YouTube community almost a year and a half ago now! I love so many things about YouTube specifically the beauty community and am really excited for the opportunities that it yields.

I love the different outlets, creative potential, individuality, and relationships that can come from developing a YouTube channel. Since I have absolutely fallen in love with writing on my blog about products, life, beautiful places, and all the other things I love, I decided that I could do the same thing on YouTube (in addition to my blog).

I hope to have a channel that is well rounded, put together, and most importantly something that I love to do! I'm just starting out, but the potential and opportunities that could lie ahead excite me!

I would love if you would check out the couple of videos I have so far! I still have a lot of things to learn and many different things I hope to do in my videos, but if you like what you see, feel free to subscribe, like, or comment (or all three) it would honestly make my day!! :)

Thanks again if you're reading this! I would absolutely love if you would come along with me on this next step, check it out!

My Channel :)

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed! :)
